Art
Mrs. Jennifer Cook is the Art Education Teacher for both Mars and Sylvester Elementary.

Other Art Education highlights:
  • We have 2 art shows each year, one in December and in March
  • 5th graders to the Krasl art Center each year on a field trip.

Music
Lisa Dabrowski is the Music Education Teacher for both Mars and Sylvester Elementary.

Other Music Education Highlights:
  • Students learn the basics of general music including performing, listening, singing, movement, playing, reading, and composing music.
  • There is a choir that 4th and 5th graders may participate in. Vocalaires, an audition only choir, selects approximately 40 students.They perform several times throughout the year at various school events and public appearances. They also perform in the Holiday program and the Spring Program.

Physical Education
MacKenzie Shelton is the Physical Education teacher at Sylvester Elementary and Mars Elementary.
Other Physical Education highlights:
  • Sylvester Elementary help set a new world record for most people speed stacking in one day. LEarn more about speed stacking.
  • Each year, Sylvester and Mars Elementary participates in Jump Rope for Heart and raises money for American Heart Association. Learn more about Jump Rope for Heart.
  • At Mars Elementary students learn about the importance of physical activity and how to have fun while exercising!  They learn basic movement patterns (jump, skip, hop, etc..) and basic skills (throwing, catching, etc..).

Technology
Megan Roth is the Technology teacher at Sylvester Elementary and Mars Elementary
Technology highlights:
  • Students learn about how to use computers, vocabulary, and basic typing and mouse functions.
  • Students are also introduced to some coding.
