Young Fives

Overview
Welcome to Young Fives! In our program, students participate in many enrichment opportunities to provide a stimulating Young Fives experience. The students are actively engaged in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies activities. We focus on letter and sound relationships, concepts of print, phonemic awareness, and storytelling. We believe children need many opportunities to talk, draw, and write about the work they are doing. In math we focus on counting, shapes, number recognition, and patterns. The children learn these math concepts through games, calendar, and other hands-on activities. Our students do much of their learning through hands-on experiences and play. The students are provided opportunities each day to explore, develop social skills, and make choices during a designated Choice Time. Our Young Fives program provides a year for development and growth as the students prepare for the upcoming year in Kindergarten.
